Michael Berry
Michael has been Vicar of St Philip's since May 2006.
Michael is married to Rebecca, a German teacher at Pakuranga College. They have two infant daughters, Sophie and Isabel. The boss of the house, however, is Baldrick, the Vicarage Cat.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys the company of good friends and good wine. On Monday, his day off, Michael and Sophie can often be found out on an adventure enjoying the sights of Auckland.
Born in Auckland, Michael attended Auckland Grammar School and Auckland University. He has bachelors degrees in Arts (Geography and History) and Theology. Michael was ordained in 2003 and served his curacy at St Mark’s in Remuera.
In the wider church, Michael is a member of the Diocesan Council and serves on various committees.

Nyasha Gumbeze
Nyasha joined St Philips Church in April 2009. She is married with two children. Her family originally came from Zimbabwe and have been in New Zealand for nearly 8years.
Nyasha attended Laidlaw College and the University of Auckland and has a Bachelor in Ministries and a Master’s in Theology degree. She has a background in Missions and Youth Ministries here and abroad. Nyasha was ordained deacon in 2009 and subsequently Priested in 2010. She loves singing and dancing in Church and in her spare time she enjoys going to the gym and having a good laugh with friends.

The Reverend Sarah Clare - Deacon Assistant

Sarah Clare
Sarah grew up in rural Worcestershire, England. She is married with 3 adult children.
While in England Sarah became involved quite a lot in the church before her vocation made itself forcibly manifest, resulting in a second degree, in Contextual Theology (Sarah's first degree is in French). She was ordained to the diaconate in 2011.
Sarah's hobbies and pastimes include: tennis, sailing, walking, singing, reading, films and theatre, music, friends and family. She enjoys meeting people and getting involved in things, and is a self confessed dab hand with a tea urn or a pair of washing up gloves!
